ST. LOUIS, Mo., July 20, 2026 — As families prepare for the upcoming school year, Walmart is making it easier to prioritize health and wellness with the return of its annual Walmart Wellness Day on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at participating Walmart pharmacies and Vision Centers in the greater St. Louis area and nationwide.
The free community health event is designed to help customers take proactive steps toward better health by offering no-cost screenings, affordable immunizations and access to trusted healthcare guidance from Walmart pharmacists.
During Wellness Day, customers can receive free health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body mass index (BMI) checks. Select Walmart Vision Centers will also offer free vision screenings. In addition, affordable immunizations will be available, including flu, COVID-19, HPV, tetanus, hepatitis, pneumonia, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox/shingles), whooping cough (TDAP) and more, helping families prepare for a healthy start to the school year.
The event also provides an opportunity for customers to speak one-on-one with Walmart pharmacists, learn about healthy lifestyle habits, explore medication support services and access wellness resources tailored to their individual needs. As interest in weight management options continues to grow, customers can also receive information about GLP-1 therapies and additional wellness support available through Walmart.
“Back-to-school season is one of the busiest times of year for families, and Walmart Wellness Day offers a convenient opportunity to check important health needs off the list while shopping for school essentials,” said Tony Olsen, Pharmacy Clinical Services Manager for Walmart Region 40. “Whether it’s receiving a free health screening, learning more about recommended immunizations or speaking directly with a local pharmacist, we’re proud to provide accessible healthcare resources that help families start the school year healthy and confident.”

Improving Community Health Starts with Accessible Preventive Care
Improving Community Health Starts with Accessible Preventive Care
As healthcare needs continue to grow and many families face challenges accessing preventive care, one reality remains clear: staying healthy shouldn’t depend on how far you live from a doctor’s office or how long you must wait for an appointment.
Across the St. Louis region, people often delay screenings, immunizations and wellness checkups because of convenience, busy schedules or uncertainty about where to turn. Yet conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes can develop without noticeable symptoms, making early detection critical.
Through my work serving the greater St. Louis area, I’ve seen firsthand the important role pharmacists play in community health. For many individuals, pharmacists are a trusted and accessible source of healthcare information, guidance and support.
Beyond prescriptions, patients seek advice on managing chronic conditions, understanding new medications and adopting healthier habits. Increasingly, they also have questions about weight management and GLP-1 therapies. Pharmacists help provide education, answer questions and support informed health decisions.
Community wellness depends on making healthcare information and preventive services more accessible. Whether it’s helping someone understand a treatment plan or encouraging a preventive screening, every interaction is an opportunity to improve health outcomes.
Events like Walmart Wellness Day on July 25 connect individuals and families with free screenings, low-cost immunizations and pharmacist guidance.
Bringing these services directly into communities—especially those facing healthcare access challenges—helps reduce barriers and empowers people to take charge of their health. As preventive care matters more than ever, we must continue bringing healthcare resources to those who need them most.
